Default Stuck CVs

I went to repack my bearings the other day and had a hard time removing the front axles from the hubs. I had to beat them out with a hammer. I can useually take them out with my hands after I take the castle nut off. I took my wifes out just to see if hers were hard to get out and sure enough thay pulled right out with my hands. Any of you guys had a hard time with the axles? Any answers as to why?

usually when the bearings run out of grease they run ALOT hotter+ the metal distorts their stock demensions then things lock togather+ get tighter.

Sounds like a decent answer. I did get them greased and yes, they were dry. I tried to take one out today after they have been put back for a while and they still won't budge. Are they going to be like that for good? Are the splines messed up? I am just **** and would like to know. Thanks guys.

I don't know how hot they get. I did repack the bearings to try and get a little more life out of them. I probably won't get used parts though. I saw a set of bearings for 45 dollars on ebay last week. I think that I am just going to keep my eye on things and go from there. What do you think?
