went riding sat. with some friends and came up on a solo rider who had fouled a plug on his dirtbike with no spare . he wasn't a local so he had nobody to call to bring him one. just so happened my spare was the same as the one he needed. we put in his bike and it fired right up. you could see the relief in his face. not sure how long he had been kicking it trying to start it but when we got there he looked tired.he wanted to pay me for the plug but my boondock superstitions would'nt take the money. i told him it might be me next time. he said his thanks some more shot the breeze for a bit and went on uor merry ways.i didn't think about the plug being gone today. me and the some others rode some trails today and about 5 miles from home the plug fouled out.went for my spare and AH SNIT luckly one of the guys i was riding with had a spare at his house 1/2 mile away like the old saying goes "what goes around comes around".

thats why i dont like to ride alone as you never know what can happen. its weird i guess(knock on wood) but i have never carried a spare plug for my 4 strokes unlike the 2 stroke sled days.

Ditto Oldsmoboat. We carry a spare plug and belts now. When we had a belt go, it was fortunate that there was a repair shop right off the trail.

Yesterday, my cuz HWKYE took in some water in the air filter box.
He had to drain that thing. That stupid clamp to hold the drain piece
is so tight to get to and my leatherman pliers couldn't get enough
of a bit to loosen. One of our riding partners had a full set of channel
locks that worked perfectly, I'll will add that to my tool carry-on list.

Cheers,

R'
