Default Quite possibly the dumbest question of the year!

I have a 2007 800 X2 Standard. I have changed the engine oil, and today I tackled the transmission. I used the correct Polaris fluid for this. I also bough the Demand Drive fluid for the front as I do not have ADC in my machine.
The question I have, and I cannot find any reference about in the owners manual is this: Is there a rear differential in the 800 X2? I looked all over and could only find the drain and fill plugs for the transmission. Like I said, the manual makes no reference to it but I did see a post on rear differential on the boards here.

That is not the dumbest question. I know, becasue I sat for a long time looking at my machine, drinking a beer, wondering wheres the tranny fluid and wheres the rear diff fluid. Same thing though......It took me a few pints to figure it out....not really a bad thing though!

it takes 5 0z. to fill and uses the either angle drive fluid or synethic 80-90 gear oil. 2871653 is the polaris pn# for a 8 oz bottle. the drain plug is in the back of the rear end and the drain on the bottom.

Stendori has the part # correct if it has the same diff in the rear as the 500 X2. I imagine the 800 is pretty much the same. Kind of cool having a Spicer rear diff. They make great products.

Went out and crawled all around this thing and still see no drain plugs. All I see is the fill and drain for the transmission on the side. Nothing else but bolts all around the perimeter of the tranny that hold the two halves together.

There should be a drain that looks like a hex head bolt if I remember right. Again, it may be different on the 800.

My quads never had differentials on the front or back. They had gearboxes. A differential would be nice though. Do all 800s have one, or just the X2s?

Maybe I have the naming wrong, but, on the X2 you can put the rear in 1 wheel drive. They call it Turf Mode, unless they went and changed it. It unlocks the outside wheel so you can turn tighter. Helps in tight situations where you don't need alot of traction. Keeps the lawn a little better too. It's an electronic unit made by Spicer.

Yeah, that's a differential, alright. I think that first came out on the Polaris ATP. All mine have been more like a straight axle. Does one-up 800 have turf saver mode or just the X2?
