i dont like the way a polaris acts because i have had 2 and neither of them would crank when it is cold!! i have a h.o. right now and i really dont like the way it runs when it is warming!! for the first 20 minutes it will only run 40 and has the least power of a fourwheeler i have ever seen!! i like the new honda i think but...... my dad likes dealing with polaris dealers. his friends own a polaris dealership so i am stuck with this sorry piece of junk

Poor kid... you live at home still, and on top of that you have to ride a Sportsman 500 H.O!!!

What an outrage! Boycott your dad and move into the tree-house...mommy will bring you some cookies.

You think he's crying now! Wait until he is on his Rubicon and eats a bunch of dust from some guy who flies by him on some warmed up new Sportsman.

Don't blame Polaris, they all act that way anymore. They have been leaned out for emissions.
Unless you re-jet for winter, any machine you get will give you problems being slow to warm up.

Besides, do you know how hard it is on a cold enine to run wide open???
Just be patient, and let it warm up.

Just a FYI, my Polaris seems to warm up sooner than the Honda.

He can't do that the tree house was made from transport creats provided by the polaris dealership, he'll be contradicting himself.

I have a 00 scrambler 500, and it cranks up better than the hondas and yamahas' i ride with.all i have to do is turn the choke on and it fires right.I used to have a 300ex and it did not want to crank for nothing.all i can say is that i am satisfied!

No machine will ever run fine when cold!! Can't ou just stay smooth on the throttle for 10 minutes? I guess you have never ridden anything else, since any internal combustion powered machine will not be able to run until it reached a certain temperature. Your dad should have told you this before letting you ride. Learn how a machine works before criticizing. The shee is said to be cold blooded...yes it is, for the first 20 minutes, if I go to hard on the gas, it just will bog and won't revv. I usually wait another 5 minutes before trying again.
It's normal.
