For once I agree with Jack 100%. Especially rule-4. Jack's directions are pretty damn good and very detailed.

I only raise them enough that they dig into the bottom of my riding boots. I notice that my feet are not sliding all around the floorboard. My heels and toes are only raised a tiny amount if any at all.

Try it. Costs very little to change back if you don't like the mod. I think you will though.
