Default Xplorer400 clutch issues

I have a 98 xplorer 400 2 stroke. I used it for turkey hunting last week and in the off time i was doing some driving around and decided to put the throttle down. It took off like a raped ape and then topped out at 30 mph. Couldnt figure out why. I took the clutch cover was off and there was some definate wear on the belt i just put on last summer. I have some oversized tires on it and up until last week never really had any issues with it. Did the clutch finally give out with the size of the tires? Or is there a problem with the reed valve? The carb seems fine. I took it out and cleaned what i could. not really that dirty. After reading some of the past posts, i think its the clutch, but need some more opinions. I am for sure going to put a clutch kit in it with a slightly stiffer spring, but all after i figure out whats going on. Any help or ideas would be helpful. Thanks!!!

It seems like your big tires are causing the belt to wear out. A clutch kit and new belt should help. You may have other issues too, but it sounds like it's running good, other than no speed.

Sounds like the secondary buttons wore out. When you replace them set your spring setting a little lighter to compensate for the bigger tires
