Hey Jumbo Frank: The guy just never used it. I bought it for $4200.00 with Plow, 200lb Warn Winch, and atv cover. He just likes his toys, and guess he never used it like he thought he would. He told me it cost him 8 Grand in 2002. I sure plan on using it. Mountain Joe.

Sounds like you got a really good deal. I usually put 100 miles on mine every weekend. I've got a 05 foreman with 1800 miles on it now.

44 miles in 6 years is insane. I take it your friend has money to spare like that. Nice buy though, I bet its still in showroom condition.

Hey Gang: It's about 10:20 PM here in NY. I started on the Sportsman 700 this morning. Took the carb apart, and man was it varnished but good. I used gumout, and Q tips and cleaned it out but good. Took the jet apart and cleaned them really good as well. I took out the plugs and was shocked to find the worst shape plugs I have ever seen. I guess six years of on off use totaling 44 miles can wreak havoc on an engine. The quad ran better after the carb cleaning. Then I put the plugs in and man the was the cat's ***. It ran great. I ran it up the road by my house and braved the local police. Had to see what it had, and if what I did had any effect. I am still gonna add some gas treament, and after a while of riding, I think it will be up to par. Thanks to all you guys, you are the best.

Now for a different question: I am not crazy about the brake pedal. I was wondering if there is an after market extension or somthing. It seems so small and tight to get to when you want to slam on it. My Grizzly brake pedal is way out there, and easy to get to. Maybe I just got spoiled by it. BFN.

I don't think there is any mod for the foot break. The hand break works the front and rear breaks though.

I'm glad to hear it's running so good. The foot brake is for emergency use only. That's why it's not very big. Just make sure it's adjusted so it works without bottoming out.

Thanks: Too bad, I would love to have somthing more substantial to press down on. Maybe I can weld somthing onto it to extend it? Only thing I did not do was change the fuel filter? Any idea where it is located? I picked up generic one when I ran out for the plugs today. Hoping I could use it.

Thanks Jumbo Frank: I will adjust brakes, as it makes a great deal of sense in getting this baby trail worthy. I did not know the hand brake worked on both front and rear. I've got a big foot, and it just seems hard for me to nail the brake pedal. I will figure somthing out. It sucks your quad was stolen. Hope you had insurance and your doing ok with it. Mountain Joe

My 03 700 didn't have an inline fuel filter but it wouldn't be a bad idea to add one. The hand break distributes the stoping power equally to the front and rear breaks. You can lock all four tires up with just the hand break. I had trouble keeping the foot break working on mine as well.
