There are a few people here who have trouble with the foot brake from using it all the time. It was never designed or built for constant use, and that seems to tear them up pretty bad. I just check mine once in awhile to make sure it works, like after I wash my wheeler, but otherwise never use it. I haven't had a problem with one in 11 years, other than having to adjust it once in a great while.

OK Pressure: Seems like there may not be an inline fuel filter on mine either. May be a good idea to ad one. Thanks for the advice. The 700 Twin seems like a monster compared to my grizzly 660. I understand the Polaris has a lot of towing capacity, and power overall. Wish it had a pull start like the grizzly though.

I guess mine messed up from never using it at all. I never even checked it out. Had to rebuild my rear caliper one time because I didn't change my pads soon enough and the cylinder pushed all the way out. After the rebuild I tried the foot pedal and it wasn't working. I never fixed it since I never used it though. The hand break always worked great. I never had stoping problems.

I forgot to mention that I noticed a leak of some coolant. I read somthing about a mystery leak of antifreeze on the sportsmans. Does anyone have any idea where it may be coming from? I was not able to trace it, might have to take a real hard look at it another day, since my schedule was tight yesterday.

Hi All: Does anyone have any suggestions on the coolant leak I have on my 02 sportsman 700. Also, does anyone know if using an antifreeze leak stop product will work, and or is this somthing that can screw up my cooling system. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks Mountain Joe.

I wouldn't use any stop leak unless it's an emergency. It can plug up the radiator and screw it up bad. I've never had a mystery leak myself but I would wash the quad and let it dry thouroughly. After that crank it up, and the only wet spot is your leak.

Thanks JumboFrank: I will have to do as you suggest. I was concerned about using the stop leak. I noticed a small leak after I transported it to my place after my purchase. Then after running it, it seemed to go away. I figured it was due to transporting it. Then after I was working on it this past Sunday, I noticed it again. I was revving it up quite a bit to check out the results of the carburater work I had done. This is when I noticed the leak. I wonder if that had any thing to do with it? When the leak stopped after transport, I thought that maybe by using and running the quad the seals may have become wet again and self sealed itself? I will keep you posted as to what I find. Thanks Mountain Joe.
