Near Manchester, but if I wanna ride in Maine for a day, don't I gotta register it in Maine also??</end quote></div>

yes i do beleave you do. this is off the maine web site.

ATV

For registration period starting July 1, the registration fee will be $33 for a resident and $68 for a nonresident, plus the agent fee*.

New registrations only - Beginning May 1st of each year, registrations will be valid from the date of issue through June 30 of the following year.

All ATV registrations expire June 30.

Proof of payment of sales tax required on first time registrations or proof of prior registration (Maine residents only).

Registrations may be obtained from some licensing agents or by mail. Renewal registrations may be submitted online.

Reciprocity - Maine no longer has reciprocity with any state or province.

*Agents may charge a fee of $1 for renewals and $2 for new registrations</end quote></div>

this is what sucks about outwestaters wanting to come up(over) here to ride as it cost so much damn money to register the atv for you folks. hell 2 years ago it was only $16.00 for us.

I know it isnt the "right" thing to do..but I lived in Maine back in 2005 and 15 years prior to that date. I use one of my old tags and just leave it on my 4wheeler that I ride here in the south.

If I see a warden or a cop..just wave and pass on by...its all good..</end quote></div>

---------------You do realize that ME. no longer uses steel plates? We now use stickers, also any ATV registered is HELPING the states ATV clubs financially, and if you get caught your ticket dollars will be helping the cops catch more like you. Don't mean to be a "cop" just wanted you to know whats-what. That being said, howa about this weather?? lol

we out on my vmax yesterday and going by the trails on the RR bed they were dusty to the point of being like a big cloud of dust a few minutes after they went by. you get any amount of riders together and it will suck big time. woods trails are the best w/ a little roads throw in. most of the trails we like to ride are not good for stanard(hand clutch) bikes as they are sometimes very rough and you on and off the throttle alot.
however if people want to vist it the newport area the rr bed goes 32 miles to dover one way w/ a nice 14 mile loop in corinna off the bed. so you can ride around 70 miles up and back. its pretty god after a rain storm to keep the dust down. we also drop off in abbott and ride to greenville and back (which isnt as dusty) and thats more then 60 miles where you get lucky once in a while and see a moose and other wild life. these are all marked trails. just thought i would post this for outsiders looking for more of an area. this year im hoping to get together w/ my bud and try some long distance trails as ive been imformed we might be able to go to northern Maine from this area but have no idear as of yet.

ya central, about 3 hrs away lol. the bad thing about riding sleds in rangley is that there were so many people over there riding that it totally sucked as well as the trails from the use. they do a good job trying to groom but just so many riders. imo.

You are exactly right.EUSTIS is way better, usually smooth as a babys butt.Iusually ride and play in the back country on my sled tosee what hill,or mt i can conquer.back to topic[Id consider giving any of you an atv tour up here,as long as you dont ruin the trails i bust my nuts on working on and repairing.Dont get me wrong i do like to raise hell and play in mud.STRATTON EUSTIS AREA WOULD BE EVERYONES BEST RIDE.Ithink it ought to be on a saturday, plan on getting up there friday night and leaving sunday.Got some motels up their too,or CATHEDRAL pines campground.Got bars and strippers [last time i knew]onSATURDAY nights too.q][i]Originally posted by: stendori[/iALAN
