'04 Polaris Scrambler help
#1
Okay I recently purchased a 2004 Polaris Scrambler. Had just over 1000 hours on it, really good condition. The only problem I have is when it sits over night or for a long period of time. It is hard to start, With choke all the way out, I still have to flutter the gas to get it going. After it is going, if I dont give it gas it will die right away. So currently I just sit on it close the choke and give it gas to warm up. After it is warmed up it runs great. It kind of seems liek the idle is to low to me, and that may be why it is stalling cold starting. Then also sometimes if I get a few bad starts I will start it and give it some gas, and will get a little blue smoke out the tail pipe? Thats the only time I get smoke, I just think maybe some gas built up in the carb/cylinders and it is burning it off, does that sound correct? Any help on how to fix these symptoms would be great.
Thank you

you need a needle+seat assembly.do this,shut-off gas, startup, let it run out,now just turn gas on when your going to use it,shut off when done, till you fix it.....see if that works..........

I will try that out, on Monday (mon - tue) is my weekend. Do you reccomend any type of oil for this machine. (and oil for a 08 sportsman 400 me and my wife got our first two wheelers together) I plain to get a good air filter, better exhaust and rejet in the future. Been reading alot, this is my first quad. Just gotta get this one up to snuff.
