Default WHERE DOE IT GO

The last time I rode, when I was loading up on the trailer, I noticed a clear plastic line about 22 in. long w/ a inline filter that has VAC stamped on it hanging out of my skid plate below motor. It pulled out freely. Does anyone know what this might be. I can scan it on my printer if anyone would like to look at it.
THANKS>

Welcome to the forum 45s. If it didn't have an inline filter I would think it's the battery vent hose, because they're clear and that's about where they route them. I never saw one with a filter in it. There are various vent hoses that plug into the frame from other places on different quads. What model and year are you riding?

what size hose is it? like a 1/8" (carb vent most times) or the battery vent may be 1/4" but would be back under the seat area i do beleave. check the carb for any open nipples. if its a vent for the carb, trans, or just about anything esle it should be routed high up unless it has a check valve to stop water from getting in. imo.

Hmmm, would the carb overflow have a filter/check valve?
I would have to agree with Stendori on this one and think it is the carb vent...it would have the filter and is usually clear vinyl hose about that long.
It is usually routed from the carb up to the top of the gas tank but may have come loose and droped down over time. Was the filter near the end that was hanging down?
Easy way to confirm this is to look to see if the carb vent is still there...if not BINGO!

the carb vent goes up along the snorkel on the top of the filter box and makes a u turn back down about an inch. No filter on it.
The over flow tube hooks to the nipple/drain on the bottom of the carb bowl with a small filter type thing on it, might be like a one way valve so as not to suck water back up it.
