Default Rear winch mount

im starting to set up arear winch set up for my 07 700

1. do you have to have a contactor, because I was just going to use the remote plug and remote instead of having 2 rockerboxes on my bars

2. i haven't been able to find a mount plate for the rear, so i tink i might make one

3. any ideas on how to mount up the wich without loosing access to the tool box

thanks in advance

you don't need 2 contactors, just need extra set of wires to run to the back for the winch motor. why don't you make a hitch to slide into your receiver? thats how polaris does it for the ranger. you should talk to your local dealer about purchasing just the wire harness for the multi-mount winch system, these are heavy duty quick disconnects so all you have to do is unhook your winch by pulling wire apart at connection, slide winch out of receiver, move winch to rear receiver, put in pin, connect wires, then you run winch using existing switch.

you can just take off the male portion of the hitch with the ball, when you want to use the winch, then store it in the rear storage box.

I had a Polaris Multi-Mount for one of my Sportsmans. I don't know if that's what you want or not but it's a great system. I kept my winch on the back unless I needed it on the front, like when I plow. I had the Multi-Mount front bumper too. It takes a matter of seconds to pull the bumper off, pull the winch off the back, and put it on the front. The rear mounted winch balances the ATV out better and you can winch yourself back out of a mess instead of through it. If you need it on the front, pull the two quick-realease pins and unplug the cable to swap ends. Warn makes a Multi-Mount too, and Montana Jack's makes a front reciever so you can use the trailer hitch or winch on either end. To me it's better to have one winch I can swap fron front to back as needed, than to have two winches. It's a whole lot cheaper too. Polaris may have dropped the multi-mount, but the other two are still available.

The Polaris ATV multi-mount doesn't use the receiver hitch. It mounts up higher where a bumper goes. You couldn't fit a Ranger mount of this style on it any easier than you could put a Ranger bumper on the Sportsman. It looks like it fits all these ATVs and possibly more. I don't trust the website to be up to date.
