Which block-off kit?

Why bypass a pefectly good injection system? You can go ahead and make things more inconvenient for yourself but I wouldn't. Especially since I like to ride all day. I like being able to pull up to a gas pump and top off, without carrying a can to pre-mix the oil and gas in. If you never use a whole tank of gas in a day then it doesn't make much difference. I just think it's a PITA to pre-mix for all the 2-smoke engines I already have, and don't want to add a quad to the list.

Guys.... the smoke is killing me... especially in the real tight woods.
It seems to me that the more throttle you give it, the more oil the injection pumps in. When I'm in real technical areas where it takes quite a bit of throttle to move, but I'm not moving fast.... that's where it's like a bug exterminator.
The blue oil that's in it or the injection (or both) have to go!

Excessive smoking not always oil pump, worn needle and seat dumping fuel can cause a lot of smoking problems, oil pump metered to provide 40-1 ratio if everything is working well.

if the injection is set corerectly then your going to match it for effiencey on the amount. maybe it needs to be adjusted. how the compression holding up, good rings?

Well, the quad is a '99, but I bought it in still new condition, and it had not been out of the shop long....
The original owner said it was fouling a lot of plugs from new, and since he was really planning to sell the other quad, that had to be fixed. He says they combed over everything and couldn't find anything wrong, so they went into the carb. Come to find out, that was the issue. Wrong carb settings/jets for our area/elevation.... too rich.
Now the plug reads good, slightly rich... maybe perfect but too much oil...
I'll check the injection adjustment, but I really doubt it's off, all things considered.
40:1 is a pretty rich oily mix... if that blue stuff is dino injection oil, no wonder it smokes so bad.
