WHEWWWW HOOOOOO
Well folks, i just got back from driving to Athens, TN. Took me about 2 hours each way but was worth it...
Picked up a 2008 Sportsman 800efi in all black w/ a 2500lb winch installed all for a total of 6700. out the door. My local dealer wanted almost 8k for just the quad...
Going riding in a few hours, will post some pictures over the weekend..</end quote></div>
Congrats, that is a good deal! Best price going around me is $6800 plus tax, no winch. You'll love the Stealth Black, in case you didn't know it is painted(I didn't when I bought mine), but the plastic underneath is black so it hides chips/scratches very well. The paint is harder to scratch then plastic also. And I agree they are work horses..wait to put the 800 to the test, it is about unstoppable. I had to make my on trail through the brush out of an area yesterday and pushed down numerous 1.5"-2" diameter trees going up a fairly steep hill, sometimes pushing over two 2" trees at the time!! I never would have believed it would have donbe what it did.

gotta love 'em. I miss my '03 sportsman 700 all the time. I had to pull my uncles trailblazer out on the trails one time (it lost compression and wouldn't start). I pulled him for 3 miles over some rough terrain and up and over a 3' boulder in which I wouldn't have believed I would have made it over by myself. put it in low and 4wd and went right up it and pull him and his trailblazer right up it, no problem. you're gonna love the 800.

Just got back from the mountains and I'm still grinning from ear to ear...
I thought the 500HO was a work horse, the 800efi is a pack of clydesdales.
i only put about 12 miles on her today, but i gave her a wide variety of riding.
i hooked a 18" diameter log that was 6 feet long, and dragged it like it was twig.
i hit 50mph at half throddle in no time.......
BOTTOM LINE.... it's a keeper

Yea you got to love both the 500 and the 800.
A couple of weeks back I entered my 500 and my 800 in an ATV Pull.
Here is my son on the 500 he went 197 ft. http://s306.photobucket.com/al...¤t=SANY0782.flv
Here is me on my 800 I went 274ft out the door http://s306.photobucket.com/al...¤t=SANY0785.flv
I haven't been able to find out what that weighed exactly. Both or our rigs had some balast in the front but they outpulled everything in their class and the 500X2 only pulled 20 ft shorter than the 700Ac in my class. The AC had about 75lbs of headstone mounted on the front rack for balast.

Forgot to ask a question....
Approximately how long should I wait before i really put my new 800 to work?....
i was thinking about 35 hours or so.
And should i do the first oil change at 15-20 hrs opposed to 25hrs?

both of mine had over 50 hrs before I did the pulls.
My 800 started it's life plowing snow. I didn't push it or over rev it for the first 20 hrs.
Dealer told me first oil change was 50 hrs on both of them, 800 was right on 50 when I changed it and the 500 had 25 when I had it done just because it was easier to take both of them down at the same time.
Not sure what others would say however.
