This has happened to me so many times. I do a little maintenance and make a few adjustments and then something coincidentally happens that causes me to spend countless hours trying to figure out what the heck just happened and why. That's why I do things one at a time so I can more easily and quickly diagnose the problem. As for your problem, I'm at a loss.....sorry!

I would bet the cam is bad causing it not to run good off idle and the low speed knock would be the front clutch buttons or complete clutch is bad.

i was thinking clutch buttons also they will make a carb really hard to diagnose. and with the fuji motor that old the cam has to be bad or heading that way fast.

i took the clutch cover off and let the engine run no question the knock is from the motor not clutch at least from what it sounds like.
