Default Tire size question

Posted this in the Tire forum but havn't got a reply yet so I though I would put it here as well.

I have a 2000 Polaris Xplorer (250 cc). The original tires are 23X7X10 in the front. I got 25X11X10 as a gift and put them on the back not realizing the diameter change. Anyway what is the widest tire you think I can go with on the front? The narrowest 25's that I can find for a 10'' rim are 10'' wide. Those seem aweful wide to be in the front? Oh, getting bigger rims is not a rode I want to go down.

I can't help you, but I imagine the reason you are not getting a response is because no one here has a 2000 xplorer or they haven't changed the tires.....good luck!

Check your measurements again. The front wheels should be 12" not 10".

Default Tire size question

I was thinking that someone might have general suggestions as to how wide of a front would work. If there is advantages or disadvantages of going to a 10'' wide front tire from a 7'' wide tire?

The rims on the machine are stock and are 10''. The 2000 Xplorer 250cc machine came stock with 10'' rims all the way around. The 2000 Xplorer 400cc machine has 12'' rims in the front and 10'' rims in the back (stock).

Does anyone have any thought on how wider tires up front would change the handling (if at all)?

it should be fine. just check clearance between the tire and tie rod. it'll be a little harder to steer with the wider rubber and won't turn as sharp. not to hard to get use to. another useful fact, the front rims and tires off a rzr will fit perfect on an xplorer.the rears have a different bolt pattern. just put a set on a friends '00 xplorer 400.
