hands down no comparrison warn is the one. if you have a 700 you want the 3000 lb for sure. you can never have too much pulling power for these heay bikes. imo.

In my opinion, Polaris winches are cheap copies of warn made offshore. To us in Canada offshore means China. But let's give them all a chance, is it not how Japan put itself on the map? Remember? 35 years ago, Made in japan spelled junk!

your bike is prewired
the wires are up front underneath the right front fender with a black cover that says something about winch wires, there is a small shield up there to mount the contactor to
you also need to hook up the red wire that is under the left rear fender, and hook it on to the battery and you should be ready to roll

dont forget about the prewire(orange or red) in the pod to power the switch. i dont beleave warn makes the polaris winch as the gorilla is a look a like as well. ive got one of those of the wifes bike and have used it only once w/out any issues.

I have a 800 x2 sportsman. I first bought the warn 3000lb winch $419 at Cabelas and a Cabelas mounting bracket $70. The mounting bracket didnt work, It pointed the winch at an upward angle parallel with the frame the bracket mounted to. The wiring with the warn was very generic to fit all makes and models, the wires were extra long without terminal ends installed, the relay didnt line up with the holes on the factory polaris plate. The insructions where useless as they were not specific to any model.
I returned it and bought the polaris 3500lb for $450 It came ready to go with a bracket attached that was made to fit my sportsman. The insructions were step by step and very thourough. Everything lined up and was very easy to install, took about an hour and a half.
As far as performance the warn comes with the steel cable, the polaris comes with the synthetic rope which is stronger according to the dealer, and replys to my inquiry on this site. I used the new polaris winch to pull a large boat lift sideways out of the lake through sand, and another half mile down the beach without straining it.
