Polaris ATV lubricant alternatives???
I have a 2005 Polaris Sportsman 700EFI. I need to change the oil in the gearcases, but I have a very hard time getting the specific Polaris lubricants because my local dealer is only open the exact hours that I work, so I never can get there to buy them. Does anyone have any suggestions for alternative lubricants for the transmission and front and rear gearcases? I have already switch to Mobil 1 0W40 for the engine.

Polaris ATV lubricant alternatives???
OPT answered this one a while back, he is a Polaris Tech. here is what he answered-------- Demand Drive fluid for outboard awd (oil in hubs)OR centralized awd( later models ) Angle drive fluid for front gearcase for oil in hub models! 5oz in FRONT CENTRALIZED unit, but upon draining /refill about 4 oz usually. In HUBS drain/fill turn to 4 or 8'oclock position to drain excess DEMAND DRIVE fluid In a nutshell CENTRALIZED AWD front gearcase takes demand drive fluid, HUB activated awd front gearcase takes ANGLE DRIVE fluid!
Yes I know,You dont even have to say it! Transmission takes AGL/GC fluid !------------I have in a pinch used ATF in the front hubs&diff but do NOT recommend it unless its a do or die situation, nothing performs consistently&reliably like the correct fluids.
