What can I do to this atv to give it a lot of low/mid range power but still keep its high top speed? I really like the Pro Circuit T-4. Also what is a CDI chip?

go for a new rear sprocket. You'll lose some top speed but not that much. Unless your running down a runway you should be fine with the speed you have. All that top end is useless on the track and trail

Put a Rath header on it and a K&N clamp on filter (yes eliminate the entire air box) and a good name brand muffler. Depending on your elivation you WILL have to put a differant main jet in it. We're at around 1200 feet so we put a 185 in and hang on.

I'm not a fan of K&N filters....at least I don't like them on quads.......go with a good after market foam filter....I can't even remember what brand I have on it, though, it ran me 120 bucks.

I've got a Pro Design Air Filter on my 400EX......not as much horsepower gain as a K&N, but doesn't let as much crap through.....the PDAF came with a foam prefilter, both are washable and reusable...........

For a temporary power gain, take off the airbox lid.....more air, more power.....leave it off with an aftermarket too.

Do not take the air lid off on the Predator 500. The filtered air is on the lid side unless you go a complete aftermarket set up such as the Rath system listed above or the D2Moto system, which is a lot more inexpensive than the Rath system and works great. D2Moto filter adapter This setup will allow you to eliminate that soda straw of an intake on the Predator and run with no lid. I run K&N filters in almost all my quads.

The stock header on the Predator is actually really good and it is not worth the money for a header on the Predator. Many of the aftermarket headers end up melting the oil tank. Go to this site for all kinds of informationg concerning the Predator and Outlaw.

I'm on my second preddy. The first one I had to prefab an intake. Now, UM Racing makes a great air box with a prefilter, then the kn filter. Foam filters for dirt, kn for sand. Rule of thumb! Full HMF system best out there for preddy and a small price to pay ($470). Dropping a tooth on front sprocket helps, but lose some top end. Me, not worried, 80+mph more than I care to go on it, gets too squirrley! Air in, air out, improves power and heat displacement. Not enough, add a turbo or nos. Maybe my next step! My buddy's drag quad does 94mph in only 100 yds! Scares the F*&% out of me! But, gives me chills!
