Hey guys,
The atv sat for like a year, I did clean the bowl out and just spray what was open on the carberator, but i cant keep it running. The only way it stays running is when the choke is all the way pulled out. I have tried adjusting the idle and it does not help. I did pull the plug out and it just very black prior to running it. Any suggestions?

 

Replace needle and seat,clean pilot and main jet. Choke running only is sign carb stopped up! Might can save needle and seat if not frozen,but pilot and main probably has varnish or trash. Use STABIL if sitting up in future! I use it in my 750 Nighthawk,dont like to clean/rebuild 4 carbs! Good luck.

 

I am pretty sure i did use stablize stuff in it but the gas what like a dark orange so i cant remember, when i did take the carbarator out the needle did move smoothly. and when i pull the throttle lever i can hear it move.

 

ok update i did look at the everything you said and clean them out. There was trash in it. Everything was not frozen at all. But i cant get it to idle again. Would the plug have anything to do with it? I am running out of options. Oo and i have a bad Solenoid would that also contribute to no idle?

 

First adjust throttle slack(about 1/8" max) replace plug, then adjust carb idle screw up then down to idle IF carb and fuel flow good. Solenoid not related to problem,just have to pull start (NOTE: if solenoid clicks,usually ok!) check with test light that power is going from battery end of solenoid to starter lead! if ok,probably starter or bendix problem. good luck

 

on the Solenoid issue i can put a screwdriver and touch each ends (jumping it) it starts no problem. If i dont the Solenoid just clicks and clicks to action. any thoughts on that

 

If jumping posts works then IT IS your solenoid! Cheaper than a starter!

 

yes i have to agree i am greatful for the help i have worked on them before just not a polaris normally my sister's junk atvs. I appreciate your help alot. Just sometimes i get dizzy and all i am a girl lol. ty bunches i will get back with you when its running.

 

did you drain all of old fuel out of tank?

 

i did drain all the old fuel out of the carb and gas tank
