2005 polaris scrambler 500 H.O. will not stay running

My 2005 Sportsman does the same thing. Adjusting the idle up by the thumb throttle fixes the problem. I called the dealer ship and they told me how to do it so I didn't have to take it back to the shop. They will adjust the idle for free (at least the one here did). It's easier to do it yourself. This seems to be a reoccurring quirk with Polaris's.

after sometime running it. I did get it to idle, but it seems tho the choke is running high, and i cant get it into gear because idle is also high. what do i do now.

turn the idle screw down, the cable adjustment he's talking about ie 4 inches from the thumb throttle, should adjust so there is 1/8 inch of slack, dont use this for the idle setting , that is done at the carb
