ya, its the same dealer that said that, but he doesnt do maintenance and stuff on it, his mechanic does all that, so he just doesnt need to know that stuff cuz he just manages the dealership.
and im here in central FL and it gets 95-100*F here sometimes so liquid cooled is a big advantage but thats another thing my dad doesnt want to have to mess with.
and we want the small hawkeye chassis, so thats why its one or the other, nothing different.
but well see what happens...

Hey no toes stepped on. I just really like my Hawkeye. It is the size I wanted and as I said gets me where I want to go.
I just have never understood the "beginner" quad thing that is said about the Hawkeye. Maybe the Sawtooth is IMO, but not the Hawkeye. It may not have a mega cc engine or butt loads of HP, but it is fine for me. At almost 52 years old, I long since gave up the "having to get there first" thing. When I had dirt bikes I was more into enduro than motocross anyway. So while going fast is fun, it isn't the reason I bought a 4 wheeler.
From my experience if you want to wake up the 300cc Hawkeye/Sportsman, the SuperTrapp IDSX, DynoJet kit, and a K&N air filter is the way to go.

see for me i guess theres no better saying, theres no replacement for displacement so instread of trying to make a smaller cc engine have more power or what have you i just buy bigger. i under stand the hawkeye 300 is a good bike for sure but when the wife says its under powered thats going to be enough for me to want a little bigger size. but eachs to their own and wer all happy w/ our bikes. enjoy and ride safe.

My wifes new 08 300, gets hot at 70-80 F outside temp. it has plenty of power for her but there is a heat issue to be had in the right conditions. I have ordered the external oil cooler. OIL COOLER KIT # 2875770. if you get a 300 get the kit no matter what.
other than that it is a fun bike. plenty of power to Kill anyone.

That's exactly why I bought the aux. oil cooler first. The little add on cooler by the oil filter told me there must be a heat issue. I got 10% off all accesseries at the time of purchase so I took advantage of it. I agree 100%, if you go with the 300 GET the oil cooler. I've even considered mounting up a small temperture controlled fan on mine. After riding for an extended time in hot weather I will remove the seat, and side panels when we stop for a break. No use letting it sit and bake in it's own heat.
Old Polaris tech, yeah your right. I need the baby boomers drug of choice sometimes after a hard days ride... Aleave. Can't beat naproxin for aches and pains!
