if im not mistaken, isnt that a 2 stroke 300?? which means theres no oil in the engine crank case. it takes 2 stroke oil in the tank in front of the bike(i beleave thats where it is) and its injected into the engine. only 4 strokes have oil in the base.

yea i am sorry i should have said that my fault it is 2 stroke.... and i drained the oil that i had added and it runs great i have been riding it most of the day... i read alot of fourms about the 2 strokes so i added a 50:1 oil mix in the gas tank and filled the oil box.. it smoked for a little while but then faded slow.... i also read that when you use a wiseco piston you should let it warm up about 5 min before riding... so with all the knowledge that i have learned with 2 stroke and i am still learning. i think all is well.. i am also starting a new fourm because i have just got a another 4 wheeler today.

you dont have to let it warm up for 5 minutes before you take off w/ any kind of piston. i would cut your mixture to around 40 to 1 if you unhooked the injection pump??

If this 300 has a counter bal. like my 95, 400 has it has to have oil in the engine very little like 3oz.it shoud have a dip stick under the carb.

i didn't unhook the oil injection i was just reading that on the first start after a rebuild you should add a mix in the fuel tank so that the oil injection system could get primed up. as far as the counter bal.. it doesn't have one in the 300 and i also didn't see any place for a dipstick under the carb and i also didn't see one...

a note on this topic.. when i first torn the engine apart there was oil in the crank case is this normal after a while or did the guy that rebuilt this before me do that wrong.... the guy that tried to rebuild it before i did installed the rings incorrectly and it caused extreme damage to the piston and the sleeve.. i had to bore it 60 over..
