Default how much oil

"THERE IS NO OIL" in the base of a 2 stroke period! the only oil would be from the injection or the premix. do they use assembly lube to put an engine back together but theres not that much of it. its fine and a good idear to premix 1 tank of gas w/ the injection oil for a new rebuild. the 300's didnt come w/ a counter balancer like the 400's did so no dip stick. imo.

yes i know the 400 2 stroke has a dipstick on the case below the carb. it only holds about 4 ounces of oil. i am not sure about the 300. it needs to be check regularly. on the old one we had it have to have oil added regularly. it was overlooked for awhile and the crank bearings let loose one day. this oil is to lube the crank bearings i believe.

I've never heard of a 2-stroke taking oil in the "crankcase". Gearcase yes, and if there is a separate case for the counterbalancer, then yes, but not the crankcase.
