big screen for a ATV
#1
hey all,
i am still new to this fourm and also new to 2 stoke. So today after rebuilding a polaris xplorer 300. it is running great. so after getting this one going i was i need of another 4 wheeler so i didn't have to ride alone. so my kid brother's friend had a 05 polaris trail boss, and wanted to trade for my old big screen tv. he has busted the trans shaft that holds the spocket. everything else is alright with it. i went to bikebandit.com priced out the shaft and the sprocket. does anyone have a tranny or shaft for sale before i buy new parts. all info is welcome thanks in advance. i will post some pics soon
Thank You

Teardown first, inspect shift forks and gears for wear ,check bearings for rough spots, Replace SILENT chain if loose as this is for foward drive and takes a lot of abuse!. Reverse is gear to gear and generally less prone to wear.

How much do you think the tv is worth? I gotta think if that shaft is broke, there's more inside that's gonna need work. Just as an example, if you think the tv is only worth 300 bucks, you may come up on the short end.
Not sure if 03 and later used the same tranny or not. If so, might give you a few more options and save some money.
