Default 2007 500X2 Limited Edition

Hey all, a local dealer has a Stone Beige 2007 500 X2 Limited Edition with the winch, EBC, and ADC, all the goodies. I love the color because it's one you rarely see. Here is a pic,

But it weighs 833lbs!. That's before my 350 lbs and a passenger and assorted 'stuff'. I guessing 1500-1700 total weight.

Have I fallen for an overweight, underpowered pig?. Or will I be OK on groomed trails?.

I like that color, and for normal riding you will be fine IMOP.

The 2007 X2 500 is a great ATV. Very spunky if you want it to be....even with a load and definitely not an oinker.

it would probably be fine. the 500 is a good strong engine but make sure to use low range in heavy hauling or going slow .

I have a "99" 500 Magnum & I weigh 275lbs plus have the plastic cargo storage&padded passenger back rest on it loaded with extra straps&chain to use with winch and even with my girl on I have no troubles at all no matter where I'm riding when freighted as long as I don't try to be speed racer and use the machines gearing appropriately Ive found the 500 to be more then adequate and another plus is it still gives me great gas mileage.

I have an X2 500 and it goes well with my 350 lbs. on it. I also have had a 200 lb. rider and never had an issue with power. Great all around machine.

The Sportsman line are the heaviest of them all I believe. Even with your total weight, the 500 will be sufficient for groomed trails. Just make sure you jack up the rear shock preload to match your weight. Depending upon the front, you might also have to get HD springs or something like that.

Good luck!

Well thanks for the replies everyone, I finally got someone at the dealer today, and IT'S GONE!. Turns out all the 2007's are gone. I let them know I was angry that their website wasn't up to date. I almost drove an hour for nothing.

The only 500 X2 they have is a red 'plain jane' '08, and they want LIST for it. I'm going to wait and see the '09's. They will announce them next week.

Might want to wait until the end of the month when the 2009 models are released.
