We could help more if you'll tell us what model you have. What year is it and is it the 500 or 400? You can check the online Polaris manuals at the following link.

Good luck.

I had to do this on my Warrior for the same reason about 7 yrs ago only I was already out on the trail. I took the switch apart which on a Warrior you have to break to get it apart. There were 4 contacts on each half. I just figuered out which contacts were touching when it was in the off position and together then rotated the half that the key goes in to the on position. Put it back together and it worked. Once it started the 2 pieces wouldn`t stay together because I had to break it apart but it ran fine without them together. Put the other piece in your pocket so you dont lose that as well.

Once back home I got my spare key. Repaired the switch with sealer and a ton of electrical tape. Worked fine for years after that.

I do not know if Polaris switches are permanently sealed or a similar design. Take a look at your switch and deside how you want to proceed. There`s always the option of getting a new one from the dealer. If they don`t have one in stock maybe they`ll give you one out of a floor model. HTH

unplug the switch as the way they shut of the engine is to ground out the ignition.
