Looks like the it will definitely have a lower center of gravity, as the gas tank appears to be mounted forward of the engine instead of above it.

As far as the exhaust, I'm guessing that due to the angle of the exhaust manifold, that the headpipe goes backwards almost immediately but is still not long enough if they were to use a conventionally mounted muffler. I think they used the sideways mounting so they could get more headpipe length.

Not sure what to think of the funky dual muffler outlets though. If its not louder than the current 800, then that will be good enough for me.

I think they went with the different design for tires to match the "XP" design. They look like sport tires for a utility quad.

No 700cc? I'm glad I got a twin when I did. I'd hate to have to pay for the 800X2. The 500 is even $500 more than I paid for my 2008 700X2.

I like analog speedos better than digital on ATVs, and cars too. It's easier to glance at it and see if the needle is say, straight up, or whatever, without reading the actual number. Other than that, I'm not griping. As long as it's a Sportsman, and performs like one, I'll buy it. The style can grow me later. I'm sure there will be lots of accessories available too. I'm just glad they had sense enough to keep their bread and butter, the 500, in the line-up. But I expect that to be phased out as the 550 takes over.

All stayed the same the way it looks, outside of the addition of the Extreme performance models and the Big boss. Am I correct>?

Now we just need confirmation of the 550 motor, if its a single or twin. The Polaris website lists it as a single, but when you click on the picture, it shows a twin. There is also a picture from ATVTV.com that lists the 550 as a twin.

That would be awesome if it was, but somehow I don't think it is.
