this may help perhaps... I stopped my atv after a run a nerver had life after. We checked everything, no spark, nothing. the dealership changed a crank shaft censor I believe it was.

 

OPT would one from a 2004 600 would work too right??

Stator changes part numbers on 04 depending on when built. if built before 2/23/03 stators interchange,if 04 built after 2/23/03 then harness different. Be carefull! This is a transition year on 6oo's partly because of coil pack change! Dont just buy off E-bay if one is available unless you are certain of connections and can get a dead on arrival guarantee!!

 

Found the correct stator for the 03 600 than the guy ended the auction ahead of time now all i can find is the 04+ units.. . ..

I'll keep on digging and keep you guys posted tho i have my doubts it's the problem. . .

It is probably the bobbins on the stator. You can replace these yourself. You can buy the bobbins from rickystator.com, for around $40. I had to replace these on my 2000 500 and it saved me hundreds of dollars from getting a new stator from a dealer.
