This is a huge problem for me as well, I've had more kids shoes melting than I care to so I'm also interested to find out if this would work well. Anyone??
This is from another post I received as well. Has anyone used this?

I wouldn't use that, mud and stuff would build up in that bag thing.

So you think the item you showed would work well and wouldn't build up mud? Do you know anyone that has used it yet??

Korbs,
What about this other one I posted? Do you think that would be too tight to the pipe and cause any problems?

I have the ebay heat shield and it WORKS. You can touch it during a ride with your bare hand, and no mud buildup. It is not really a bag - it lays there doubled up, so if any mud gets in between the layers it would be minimal.
