Default Plastic Melting On 08 400HO

I remember on my former 450 I could feel the heat coming up through the sides of the seat. Hmm were you
running it too long in High when maybe it should of been in LOW (for low speeds or pulling/towing etc.)?

I let it idle for 5-10 min in 83 deg temp to check the oil. The heat rising may have caused it.

Hmmmm..this is strang...I wouldn't expect it to show up there either! I have nothing like this on mine and we have been riding long and hard the last few weekends in 90+ temps...the heat I get off that side it is normally lower radiating off the side of the engine in the clutch area.

I do notice in the pics that the aluminum foil reflective material sits just under this area...not sure if that would be a facture or not...

AND

It does look somewhat similar to damage I have seen caused by a cable shorting out and getting hot...do you have any wiring running through there?
