Default hawkeye problems finally solved, need some help!!!

ok, ive been having problems with my 06 hawkeye 4X4 for awhile and finally found the problem: there was some small pieces of trash in the fuel tank that were clogging the hole at the bottom of the fuel tank. i am draining the fuel and need to get that out somehow and the easiest way cuz i havent done much work on this atv other than maintenance and the front bumper.
is the little white box on the bottom of the fuel tank able to be removed? it looks like it could be twisted out cuz its shaped like a circle, but im pretty sure it doesnt show it as a separate part on the schematics of the maintenance manual.
i really want to avoid having to remove the tank because from what i see it is alot of trouble.
any help is appreciated!

Tank removal NOT necessary! Turn off petcock, insert about 3-4 feet of rubber hose (garden, auto) at least 3/8" diameter into fuel tank, cover around hose with paper towels or cloth, use air nozzle and insert into tank with hose, pressure in to tank will force out remaining gas, residue, water, etc! have done this for years on watercraft, atvs! NOT a lot of pressure needed, you will see remaining fluid go into pan,gas can or whatever you use. I use a clear 1/2" vinyl hose so I can see water, trash, etc. This is an old method from our old watercraft that was contaminated with water, bad gas. YOU just have to have a compressor and air blower. You can add some extra fuel to slosh in tank for better removal of contaminants.

well, just looked at it again and it looks like its bigger debris in there than i thought. there are small particles scattered around, but this is actually jammed into the little hole at the bottom. i tried poking at it with a straightened metal coathanger and its pretty tough. but im still draining it and i was gonna try to attach something like a piece of cloth or cotton tips to the end of the coathanger and try to pick up most of the stuff like that or stick a small vacuum cleaner in the tank but we will see what works.
i have tried to blow into the tank with my mouth on the fuel cap hole (not smart, i know...) while it was draining and it built up lots of pressure and didnt push out any more fuel or anything and when i took my mouth off the cap hole the pressure just blew out. so i think whatever is in there isnt going much further easily.

also, the debris that are in there got in there cuz the fuel tanks were in the back of a truck with trash bags full of weeds and yard work stuff, so thats where they came from.

Apply air pressure to fuel line back through tank with petcock OPEN in main and reserve settings! this should open petcock. Then can possibly remove contaminants as posted above. Also have you cleaned strainer in petcock? I'm assuming you have a compressor? If not, borrow one! makes work a lot easier

Most electric motors like vacuum cleaners make a lot of sparks and sucking fumes out of the gas tank can cause an explosion. Just thought you should know.

ok, i tried blowing the other way on the fuel tubing with my mouth to blow the trash into the fuel tank and some trash came out, but the main trash was still in there and it just made lots of bubbles. ill bring my air compressor wednesday and do the same thing with that.

and is that little white plastic piece on the bottom of the fuel tank able to be removed???, cuz if i could get that out then i can just clean it and my problem is solved.
