Default Scrambler Swap!

Hey...does anyone know if a 1996 Explorer transmission is a direct replace for a 2007 Scrambler trans? I see a few cheap online and would really love to have low range on my machine. Has anyone done this swap yet? How hard is it?

Thanks for the info....Scott

I dont think it'll work. The 1996 machines were not "concentric" drive, and I think they also were chain drive front ends.

I know a Hi/Lo range tranny in a Scrambler is possible, I just dont know exactly what year Xplorer or Sportsman to rob a tranny from.

Check over at Gen3USA and ask them. I'm sure someone has done it before.
