Default Rear brakes dragging

I went for a ride yesterday and it seemed that the back brakes were dragging as they were scraping as i went along. i squeezed the footbrake a couple times to see if that would help but nope. I hosed all the dirt and mud off the disc in hopes it would help but that didin't work either. i looked in my shop manual to see if i could adjust them but couldn't find anything. any help would be appreciated. thanks

If pads are good (08 model should be) reclean caliper area, spray with wd-40(just dont try to use machine right away!) Sometimes rust buildup on rotors can cause this noise. WD-40 will dissipate and remove any rust formation, have done this for years and have had NO rubber damage as some may think! If noise continues, remove pads, remove caliper stay bracket, grease bracket ends and inside boots and reassemble, could possibly be sticking if used heavily in water and mud, causing noise. Good luck

sometimes you have crap in beeded into the pads, so you might have to take them off and clean or even lightly sand the bad out. just an idear.

Success!! it took about an hour to take em' apart and clean everything and then get it back together again. i got all the dirt and junk from the caliper area and then sanded the pads a little to be sure and then greased the caliper pins and boots. it sure doesn't take long to get things all cruded up in there!! so i got it back together and took it for a nice 'quiet' ride. thanks again for all the help.
