New set of tires/rims
Goin w/ a set of 589's. Gonna need em for my January bow hunts in the high plains/desert and September elk hunts in the mountains after the June and July monsoons. Anyways, have the 25x11-19 stock rears and 25x8x12 fronts. Fronts are no problem finding in the stock size. But the rears come in a 25x10x12. I don't really want a skinnier tire. Would the handling characteristics change that much? And what about going with a 26x9x12 front and 26x12x12 rear? I'm assuming that I'd be losing a little power and wider turning radius. Any advantages or other disadvantages to going with a 26" tire? Do the 589's come in at the advertised height? Any ideas on what the dealer might say with my 4 year warranty? Thanks for the help!

we had to get the 10" wide tires instead of the stock 11" wide as well and theres no noticeable differnce. dont know what you have for a bike but yes a heavier tire does make a little power loss, but as long as you dont go over say the 26" tires it wouldnt be too bad. just be aware if you go w/ the 9" wide front tires they might rub. as far as the lug height goes some brands do change to the taller lug in the 26" tire vs the 25" so check it out before you buy them.

the 589's run about 1" short... my cousin has 28" 589's on a rincon 650 and they don't look like 28" tires.. im not sure what your expectations are but i know that if i ordered 26" tires and if they measured 25" i would be pissed.. just a little heads up..

Thats pretty funny. 25x11-19's. I wanted to put 25x11x10's. Thats what the catalog says. But thats not even right. Thier 25x11-12 rears on a 2008 700EFI X2.
Stendori, are those ITP C-Series Type 7 rims you have? I'm staying w/ ITP rims also. Thanks!

im sure you will be going with 12" rims, the #'s go like this 25x10x12 <-- this would be a 25" tall tire that is 10" wide that fits a 12" rim... most sets i have seen come with a 9" wide for the front and a 12" wide for the rear.. hope this helps and thanks for the PM
