The Sportsman 550 xp has a MSRP of $7499 and power steering is $8199

The grizzly 550 non power steering is $7099 and power steering is $7799 which is $400 cheaper and rides like crap and looks like poop. Comes with crappy 25 inch tires, polaris has those nice Terrathon tires AND 14 inch rims. Metal racks suck IMO.

That 400 bucks you save isn't worth it. Between the ride and those turf tires you have to replace right away that 400 bucks isn't an issue if you have done your research.

Yep, really sounds like polaris is on crack.

You can argue this in a all sorts of diff ways but to each man his own but I would say for a extra 300 you can have a 700 class machine that is lighter has a bigger gas tank with a engine that is proven reliabile!

I don't need powersteering. The 550 XP without it is $300 cheaper than that Grizzly and the gas tank is only about 3/4 cup smaller. Since I'm not getting a big-bore gas hog the extra ouces of gas don't matter to me. I don't care if it's comparing apples to oranges. I like apples. Besides, one of my friends broke the frame on his Grizzly and I've never heard of a Sportsman frame breaking. I'll buy a Polaris with a sturdy frame and know the durability is worth the weight difference.

Unfortunatly no one know's anything about durability of the XP series of quads so we will just have to wait and see. Hopefull they hold up as well as the old Sportsmans did!

I can tell you first hand that the frames will far surpass the strength of the old sportsmans.

Well the weight in the atvs did not change drastically so I would assume that polaris would want to remain the toughest atv in the market so im guessing the frame will be stronger then even needed...

No 550 should cost closed to a Big bore , Love to see a 750 KQ vs a SP 550 shoot out for a laugh.
