I don't know what will fit, but if you put anything on more than 1" over stock you might have to get a clutch kit. You only gain 1/2" of ground clearance for every 1" inch taller the tires are. So if you wanted 2" more ground clearance you would need 4" taller tires.

For the boss, the 489 is a good tire.

Like Jumbofrank said, you may want to get a clutch kit too.

Still have the stock size 489's on mine. I have piped it, added an K&N filter, re jetted and changed the primary spring on it.

Mostly trails and some mud. Surprising what it can go through for just being a 2wd.

Don't like where the mount for the winch is on most kits. Sits in front of the bumper. I had a steel plate welded to the top part of my bumper, just in front of the nose plastic. Never did put the winch on as I bought another quad, and this is a loaner now.

Advantage of the higher mount is a big plus if you get the front stuck. And you're not using the winch as a brush guard.

I got the stage 1 kit from Rick Ritter. Included the pipe, jets, high flow air filter and vents for the air box. Would use caution on the vents for the air box if you do a lot of swimming with the quad.

Good price and excellent customer service.
