OK Polaris People.
I bought this ATV for my son. Just picked it up lastnight. Looks great, runs great. Just have one question.
The guy I got it from never used the OIL Injection. He premixed his gas. Is there a reason for this??? Is there a known issue with the Oil Injection system on this quad??

It's rare, but the oil injection system can fail. But that goes for any quad that uses that system.
If he never used it, and it's 8 years old, I'd just keep doing the premix.

Welcome to the forum. You can fill the oil tank and still pre-mix to see if the injector works or not. If it does you don't need to pre-mix. I don't know how often they go bad but it doesn't seem to be a common problem.

OK, how can I check it????? Just put some oil in and see if level goes down???? Also, what do you think is better....injection system or premix???? If premix is better. What ratio????? Sorry, just not a two stroke guy. I ride a RAPTOR myself....

Well, I have a 03 Blazer, and use the injection system. The toy hauler has a fueling station, so I don't need any special cans set aside for fill ups on the Blazer as opposed to all the others.
Does it smoke a lot, or seem to foul plugs often?
I have seen with the newer 2 stroke oils they do say stay with the higher ratio. From the old days of dirt bikes, I seem to remember going 32:1.

40:1 is less oil in the gas than 32:1 so if there's any doubt use the richer 32:1 mix.</end quote></div>
Guess I better change that, to save any confusion.
