Default Sportsman 400 ho tire question

Can 26 inch PXT tires fit on a midsize 400 without rubbing?

Default Sportsman 400 ho tire question

i tried putting on my 26" pxt's from my 800 and they would rub hard. i put 25" swamp lites on and they still rubbed to the point of trimming my back foot wells. no bigger then 25" tires on the 400.

stendori, are you happy with the 400? Is it a good buy? My wife mentioned how she wanted a wheeler again after she had our baby, she said she liked the 400 and I'm thinking of suprising her with one.

I know you didn't ask me, but I'm happy as a clam with the ride, reliability, and performance of mine. Nice soft seat.

I have to second Mongrol's post! I am very pleased with the 400 HO! We ride almost every weekend and it has been very dependable...I would suggest a skid plate on the front frame area!

Koerbs, I have the same 25" Swamplites that Mongrol mentioned and these measure 26"+ There is plenty of clearance up front but the rear fenders have to be trimed to clear in the back. I also added Douglas Rattlesnake rims which moved the tires out farther and helped with the clearance...
Most of the 25" aftermarket tires such as Mudlites and Bear Claws run on the small side of advertised size so most of the 25" tires will work with no issues.
