Default new tires for a sp 600

Iam looking at buying bigger tires for my 04 600 sp right now i have 25 inch Maxxis Mud Bugs I really like these tires but they are almost 1 inch smaller then the sidewall size I would like to go with the new swamplites in either a 26 or 27 inch.My 600 is completely stock and I dont wanna have to upgrade the clutch or anything to run diffrent tires. I dont want to lose alot of performance can anyone give me some advice on what size i should get , would 26" or 27"be okay for my machine without any mods? or should i just stay with 25" Thanks in advanced

I asked the same ? about my 700 and I had many people tell me to upgrade the clutch. They all recommended rcr (ritter cycle racing) They said all you have to do is call and tell rick what you want to do(tire size, type of riding) and he'll tell you what you need. I've been told that if you don't go over 28" all you need to do is change the primary and possibly the secondary spring. They said Rick would hook you up for about 20 bucks a spring. I have 26" and planning to go to 27" and I've been told it doesn't hurt the bike ,but if you put in the appropriate spring it will help performance substantially. From what I hear that would be a 20-40 bucks well spent. Hell, even if all it does is make the belt not slip thats cheaper than a 60 dollar belt.

I went yesterday and bought new 26" swamplites, and I'm very impressed with them. I bought 26x9x12 for the front and 26x12x12 for the rear, I put them on my set of stock rims and the fronts clear the tie rods, I put them to the test today out on a 3 hour ride from hard pack trails to gravel hills , black bush mud, and the odd long climb.Over all Iam very impressed , I dont think they are as good of mud tire as my mud bugs but they make up for it in all the other tests ,they are better for sure, I didnt really notice any loss in power with the 26" compared to my 25"mud bugs . I would definatley buy them again ..Iam very happy with them
