Man, they made that many shots with a rifle and handgun??? It took someone's mother being an upright citizen to catch these guys??? If that happened in my neighborhood and I saw some punks shooting up my neighbors property, I'd call 911, and I'd get out the Mini 14 and at least chase them off.</end quote></div>

I am a former LEO and you would be suprised how easily a blind eye is turned now days. In alot of communities no one wants to get invoved. What's funny is they are the same people who are out is the streets yelling and calling people cowards when it happens to them.
I've seen it all. On the otherhand where I live now, rural North Carolina, they wouldn't have made it out alive. My neighbors would have waged war on them, and felt fortunate to be given the opportunity to teach the punks a lesson.

Yep, that's how it used to be HighOctane. I have some land in rural VT. Very small town. They have a constable who is more or less law enforcement for the community. I had been up to the land one weekend and nearly got run off the road by an idiot in a beat up Chevy Blazer that must have been doing 50 on a 25mph road. A couple weeks later I was up again and one of the locals who lives above my property stopped by. I told him about the guy with the Blazer hoping he knew where I could find him. He said, "you won't see him again." He said the kid was terrorizing everyone around with his driving and my friend told me he found out where he was camping. My friend went and got the town constable and drove up to the campsite. He told the kid, "if I ever see you driving like a maniac again, I'll take my John Deere (loader backhoe) and bury you so deep no one will ever find you." All the while the constable was nodding his head in approval. I love that kind of stuff. I never did see him again. My friend said he folded up camp that night.

Glad they caught the punks that did that. Nice to know there are still parents out there that will turn their kids in when they know they've done something wrong.

Be nice if the judge decides they are old enough to be tried as an adult.

Bet they are having an "Oh ****!" moment now that your friend knows who it was.

I know this dosent help now but maybe in the future. If someone has a shed or lives in a rural area it is so easy now to set up a game(deer) camera or some other form of surveilance. Things like that are so cheap now and no one expects it. I went to a neighbor's kids house a while back to tell his dad that his son broke a window out in my truck and he would be paying for it. When the little punk liar whined to his daddy that I was unjustly accusing him I just should the little 8x10 pic I had printed with his little face as clear as day with a brick in his hand. It felt good to exact some sort of justice from these little punks. Shooting up a shed would be a good one to get them for if you ever get the chance.

How good do those cameras work at night with no lights? I need to get one if they work in the dark.

You can get trail cameras that work just fine in the dark. The good ones produce no visible "flash" since they use IR. You can also get color daylight/night illuminated IR surveillance cameras that are quite reasonably priced. Coupled with a DVR or your computer they can provide day and night video coverage of your property. My house and property are covered with surveillance cameras. You can't approach the house in a vehicle or on foot without alerting those inside the home and being captured on video day or night. I know you're coming 5 minutes before you get to the house.
