Default caliber problem on the wifes quad

i just got my wife a 325 magnum a couple weeks back .oh its a 2000 . butanyway the guy said it was garage kept..(i only look stupid).today i finally got it out to work out the kinks. we did a new throtle and choke cable.changed the oil andcleaned the carb. we now notice one side of the rear caliber is stuck closed.i have no time to ordernew parts ,we are headed to lake george ny next week. so for now i have it off and keep spraying it with a penatrating spray..will this work? any other ideas?

Default caliber problem on the wifes quad

Is foot brake soft or no pedal? Pads worn out? Can try see if can open hand brake resevoir cap, open cap to foot brake resevoir, remove pads, use large channel lock pliers to see if can force piston back in. Any air, fluid, will purge through resevoirs. OR can open both bleed screws and see if can free up piston by clamping with pliers. Could be just minor surface rust causing piston to stick. When you have enough time if none of this works, best to install piston seal kit. Hope you can get by for the weekend. Good luck

we bled the brakes opened the pistons up with channel locks than laid it back on the rotor and noticed only the one side closed ,so the other is frozen .i will just keep spraying it and checking it to see if it starts to move.unless anybody has any other ideas

There could still be air in the lines on the one side.
