What type of plug do you suggest for this ATV........also, ATV has been running sluggish in mid throttle range any suggestions.....

How should plug look if properly adjusted carb?? Black/Grey/White......

mine seems to get pretty sooty/black......

 

I like a nice chocolate brown color, lets me know everything is running ok. The sooty black color suggests your machine is running rich, which will rob power, but at the same time make your engine more reliable, as it will never burn up that way. If this is a problem for you, simply adjust your air/fuel mixture to the leaner side.

 

OK, I am premixing fuel because the injection pump is dead.....so using ratio of 36:1, should I go to 40:1.........only doing the 36:1 because local dealer said it wouldnt hurt since quad is 8 years old.....I just bought it, and not a two stroke guy myself.....

 

Use 40-1 ratio if premixing. BR8ES plug.
