Default Brakes

I noticed on my recent purchase. 2000 trailblazer 250.

The brake pedal and handle are really stiff and takes quite a bit of effort to stop.....

So, do they need bleeding.....

Also, are there any aftermarket brake handles available instead of that big clunky plastic job

Have you checked for worn pads or sticking caliper pistons front and rear? Have replaced old master cylinder assemblies with up dated ones with good results! Dont know about after market levers though! Also check/blow out brake lines if possible, have had blockage before similar to what you are describing.
