Default Radiator change

Hey you all,

I am working in my duck hunting marsh with my 96' sportsman 400. Backing up, I put a pencil sized stick into the back of my radiator!?? Most coolant drained out. I have taken the front off the atv and pulled the radiator. should I replace it or is it just as easy to have some radiator shop repair it.???? Do you all have any easier suggestions for putting it back on? Very difficult to access, even with the front off.
Thanks!!

I went through this on my former 450. Yea your right you have to just take the whole front end off.
On my 06 450 once that was done, getting to the RAD was easy just a couple bolts to remove
from frame and bolts in the back of RAD to remove the fan pull the RAD hoses off.

Not sure if having it repaired would run ya cheaper. If you know a welder that you are good to go
I suppose. I just ordered a new one. I took about $400 with shipping, new coolant etc etc.
After that all good to go with a peace of mind too.

Does your 96 take the same radiator as a 99 500 sportsman/magnum? If it does I have a extra one in EXCELLENT working condition, and its not all dinged up. I'd sell it for 50. plus you pay shipping costs, your choice of type of shipping and I'll take paypal payment & ship it same day depending on time and type of shipping
