2-Up Pricing - Buying Tuesday
#1
Hey Everyone,
I am heading out tomorrow to purchase a 2-Up for me and the Lady. Can I get some advice on the amount of discount you were able to get off MSRP for the 2008 models? I live in Houston, TX and the ATV's I am looking at tomorrow are the 2008's:
- 2008 500 Touring (MSRP $7700)
- 2008 500 X2 (MSRP $8000)
- 2008 700 X2 (MSRP $8200)
Thanks! I will post some picks as soon as I pick her up if everything goes as planned...

Man go with an X2's this way if you ride alone you can put the seat down and out of the way. The touring bikes if you take the seat off you have a big hole and there was no polaris cover avalable to fill it at the time i got my bike. I went with the 700, it uses a little more gas but I can ride about 75 miles on a tank riding hard. Not sure if you have the need for the dump bed but its nice when you head to the woods to camp with the wife. I just doent put the seat up till we unload at the camp and put it up and were ready to ride for the day. Hope this helps

One of my neighbors bought a 07 last year for $7200.00 and nother got a 08 last week for the same price. I got an 06 at the end of that year for $7000.00. All 500's and all X2's.

Thanks for the information...My first choice is the X2, I was only thinking about the Touring if I could get a better deal on it. Hope it all works out tom...
I was hoping to take the $800 in rebates and pull a little more with negotiating. Any ideas what you think I could get away with?
Thanks again!

I think the rebate is equal to the engine size - $500 on a 500, $700 on a 700, $800 on a 800. I love regular Sportsman 500s but for the extra weight of the X2 with a passenger I would get the 700.

Better get the 60mo. warranty it's about $1100 but it will pay out in the long run.

Not sayin what to do, just talkin bout my quad, Got my 06 at the end of that year. Got over 2500 miles on it. Had the front springs sag, had the belt cover leak, had a short under the pod and had to put new tires on it. So far I think that cost me round $300.00. I can't think of anything else that went wrong. (after thinkin bout that $300 statement, I think I am closer to $200. Now that ain't counting the ad on toys)

I got the 06 X2 for $7300 for the 500. If the 700 had been available at the time with a couple hundred bucks difference I would have got it. The 500 has plenty of power. I weigh 360 and have had 200 lb. passengers on it. It does fine. I would recommend the X2 if you'll mostly be riding single or the Touring if you will mostly be riding with a passenger. X2 is more versatile. Touring is more comfortable.

I got my 2007 X2 500 for $7499 out the door.
If you don't need the utility aspect of the X2, you might want to consider the Touring. If you plan on doing a huge amount of 2-up riding, rear seat on the Touring is much more comfortable. Same setup and dimensions for both. I'm looking at buying an '09 800 Touring very soon.
Good luck and post those picks!
