I think people who have never learned to...
#1
After watching many ATV crash videos where a little kid is put on a 450cc sport quad or a reporterette riding an ATV into another quad, and other idiotic antics, I decided that training isn't necessary. Helmets and the brains they protect are optional. Throwing your life away is good clean fun. So, with this sarcastic methodology, welcome to I think people who have never learned to... Feel free to add to the list.
1) I think people who have never learned to ride a quad should buy the biggest, fastest, most expensive model they can find, and ride it on the hardest trails they can find as soon as they get it home from the dealership. And remember, helmets are for sissies. Shorts, Flip-Flops & NO eye protection are a must! And, if they live long enough they should let their 5 year old son hop on Dad's 800 and take it for a spin on public streets.
2) I think people who have never learned to ski should take the Double Black Diamond trails first.
3)I think people who have never learned to snowmobile should start with a 900cc sport sled and head out on a day when it is -20 out without winter clothing or a helmet.
4) I think people who have never learned to boat should start in a 12' rowboat with a 100 hp engine and take it out to sea.
5) I think people who have never learned to scuba dive should try going down 200' on their first try in shark infested waters dragging a dead bleeding fish.
6) I think people who are new to martial arts should try weapons usage first.
7) I think people who have never learned to use a chainsaw should start on the oak with the 4' wide base that is leaning over the house while balancing on a 40' ladder.
Additional forum member ideas: Also bold in number 1.
8) People who have never owed or shot a pistol should buy a .50 cal Desert Eagle & hold it real close to their face when taking that first shot. (with no ear muffs)
9) I think people who have never shot a muzzleloader should start with (3) - 50g pellets of powder; after all, the gun says it can shoot 150g. These people are easy to pick out of a crowd in December - with a big, black eye representing their scope.
10) I think people who are not concerned with safety should take a ride on Rickeyparker's ^^^^ "Redneck passenger wagon" - lol, people actually ride that thing (nice pics).

#1 Needs a little tweaking.
You forgot proper riding gear.
Shorts, Flip-Flops & NO eye protection are a must!
#1 also works well for all of those new motorcycle riders as well.
To continue...

People have allways had the mentality that bigger is better. You read articals in hunting mags about all these rich people that have never been huning down here in the states going up to Alaska to do some big game hunting (bear moose ect ect) for the first time and they see the need to buy the biggest gun they can find (.338 .445 45/70 as an example). When they finally get a chance to shoot something well you can just about guess what happens. Needless to say the Hunting outfitters allways carry 30/06's to give to these idiots as a backup because it happens all the time and it just might be a gun that most people can handle.
This is the same mentallity that we have with quads and it will probobly never change unless (sad to say) the Goverment steps in and abolishes ATV's or everyone all of a suden cannot afford big quads anymore! JMO

I hate that Bigger is better Crap, I have family that says why did you buy a 500 when you could have bought a 800, why did you buy a 30-30 when you shoulda bought a 300 mag, shoulda woulda coulda, I see it all the time bigger is better only applys to *****. The biggest problem is that people have family and freinds that tell them to buy a great big quad or any machine and they have no experience, then they get hurt or killed, we have a big problem in okc with choppers and novice riders they are crashing like flys.
