Rowe, is that 50 miles up hill all the way in two feet of mud? [img][/img] I get about 100 miles per tank with a 500 EFI. You should get around 90 with a carb.</end quote></div>

I'v got 125 miles from my 08 carb but thats mostly road cruising taking it easy , were allowed to ride the roads in my area

My gauge is the same way. I think it is more of a function of the shape of the tank. The tank is like an upside down ice cream cone. Large at the top and small at the bottom.

I've been caught a couple times atving when I've been at less than &lt;0.2 gallons left. I now carry a gas can b/c we never know how hard I'm gonna ride on any given day

Wow! The only time I got 125 miles was on an older 500 with a 5.25 gallon tank. I think I was at 123 when I had to switch to reserve. When I was playing hard maybe it was only 75 on the H.O. and 100 on an older non-H.O. There are lots of variables so as they say, YMMV, your mileage may vary. So far EFI is doing better than carb for me.

Either you ride REALLY hard or it takes a lot to turn those big-a$$ tires.

My gas guage has never worked on my '07 500. I took it to my dealer and the mechanic told me it would work when the gas got farther down. Well, I rode and rode one day and finally ran out of gas, and the guage still showed full. I emailed polaris and they never would email me back. I couldn't get in touch with anyone, and now the machine is out of warranty.

I was going to buy another polaris, but after the company wouldn't even email me back I went out and bought a yamaha which I don't like, but sure wasn't going to support someone who cares as little as these people do about their machines.

I wrote 30 miles the other day in varying conditions. I filled it up before we went today and it took 1.5 gallons. I think they do very well on mileage if you don't hot rod them.
