big bore kits 400 scrambler

aaen or hpd, what do you guys recomend. where does aaen get 440 for there kit, hpd advertises 416. does this kit work well? where are the power gains and loses. is it worth it?

Both kits are basically the same. Your motor is actually 378cc, but called a 400 by default. The name 440 is obtained by adding approximately 40cc to the physical displacement of the motor (378+40=418 +/-2cc), which now logically makes the 400 a 440cc motor.

Unless you intend to strictly race your machine don't do it. It is designed as a high performance racing application and should only be used as such because of factors concerning cooling at low RPM's.

Spend the same amount of money on a good trail port/pipe and carb combo.
