I have been complaining about a backfiring issue and my engine being much louder on my 2007 800 on this forum for the past 6 months. Everyones has been very helpful and i appreciate that. Everything i thought was wrong with my atv wasnt at all the problem. I got so fed up one day that i just said "THE H@#L WITH IT" and when out and bought a whole new exhaust since my quad was going through more donuts then cops on break. I originally had a single pipe in to a single muffler. Now i have the '08 800 dual header pipe into the same muffler. It is much quiter and all my bad symptoms such as backfiring and loss of power are gone. It definatley is a great upgrade if any of you stil have the single pipe because it gives more "pull" or low end.

""""""""""""Now on the other hand i solved the original problem. When replacing the pipe i noticed the old manifold was cracked right down the middle in 2 spots and it was almost cut in half. You could also see light through it. I know this isnt supposed to happen so i was wondering do you guys think i should be entitled to some compensation for this because i dont think a pipe should be cracking out of the blue like that. I was thinking of writing a letter to Polaris about this. What do you all think???????????

Other than that My 2007 POLARIS SPORTSMAN 800 EFI is now AN ABSOLUTE MONSTER AGAIN just by changing the pipe back so it had back pressure.

 

The upgrades and modifications of today are the standard equipment of tomorrow, definetly write a letter all they can say is "so, we dont care, leave us alone" and they probably will.

i think you can write the leter for sure, but i doubt it will get you anywhere. good luck though for sure.
